Melinda begins at the 34:15 mark

How are caring adults important to student success?

Thomas begins at the 38:40 mark

What role can community members take on to help students?

Melinda and Thomas were invited to participate in a special KNME PUBLIC SQUARE Town Hall meeting: Rural Education Town Hall: Every Day Matters. The focus was attendance, issues and solutions. The issues and solutions apply to schools across the state, rural and urban.

We All Have a Voice! School Culture Projects create an interactive campus environment which encourages interactive relationships. They are simple, yet powerful. The focus is creating new reasons to communicate.

The issue of attendance is a key component to the The School Culture Project.

Students without voice disconnect from school. They see no reason to be there. We must create special relationships with students so they know, without a doubt, that they are valued and important.

When adults step out and are innovative, students take notice. Students connect with adults who show they care about them as people. When we believe in a student, they are immediately empowered to grow into leaders with strong Student Voice.
