In the Spring of 2014, the French classes at Highland High School in Albuquerque, sponsored by Melinda Forward were so inspired by Candy Chang’s “Before I die I want to…” TED talk that they stepped up and spoke up to create their own new conversation at school through an interactive mural using Candy’s big question.

See the Highland wall on the Candy Chang’s official “Before i die…” website where it is now in the group of all the walls in the world.  It will forever be a part of this international  project.  Walls around the world

The inspiring story was covered by KOB-TV Channel 4 news just one week after students began the project.

The local school district has also included the project in its weekly online news. They even say that they “can’t get enough” of it.  Read the Albuquerque Public Schools’ article: Students share dreams on school wall

UPDATE – May 2016

From this first project inspired by Candy Chang, many others followed including: the 1,000 Thank Yous CHALLENGE, Inspiration Rocks!, Adopt a Freshie!, Sidewalk Talk, Mirror Messages, Take a Smile!, and Adopt a Locker! Each project addresses needs in the school and offers opportunities for students to express themselves, their voices, in new ways!

The We All Have a Voice! Campus Empowerment Program started with an inspiration to create change. That inspiration continues today and will keep growing as new schools join our mission.
